President Obama signed health care reform legislation this year and AAFA wants to keep you informed as we voice the interests of asthma and allergy patients as new programs and services are implemented.
HEALTH CARE REFORM LAW
In March 2010, the United States enacted comprehensive health care reform, the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.
We applaud the passage of this law because it meaningfully address the five principles of health care reform that we endorsed: covers everyone, curbs costs responsibly, guarantees coverage despite pre-existing conditions, eliminates lifetime capes on health insurance, and ensures access to quality long-term care and respect at the end of life.' The new law is not perfect, but it is an encouraging start. We invite you to join us in advocating on behalf of asthma and allergy patients as key provisions of the new law are implemented.
