Robin Wilson Named an “Ambassador” for the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America
WASHINGTON, DC, June 17, 2011 – Robin Wilson will serve as an ambassador for the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America (AAFA) and joins the call for families “to focus on indoor air quality issues” as an advocate for wellness and use of non-toxic products in an accessible manner. She has asthma and allergies and is a nationally recognized healthy home interior designer and wellness expert who has traveled the country over the past few years designing spaces and educating consumers about simple ways they can create a healthy, allergen-free and irritant-free environment.
Over 60 million Americans have limitations on their lifestyle due to allergies and asthma. Wilson has suffered from both conditions throughout her lifetime, and knows firsthand how these issues affect Americans and their families. “Robin is a true believer in the asthma and allergy community. She has been speaking on these topics for years and AAFA is proud to work with her as an ambassador to raise awareness about these diseases,” said Mike Tringale, AAFA Vice President of External Affairs.
"From the paint on your walls to the rug on your floor, the mattress on which you sleep or the everyday household cleaners – every homeowner can make small changes to promote healthy indoor air quality and living spaces,” Wilson said. “I am honored to be working with the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America to help people learn more about the prevention of these diseases through awareness of triggers that many people take for granted, such as dust mites, pet dander and chemicals. Wilson appeared on Good Morning America Health to provide simple tips for consumers, and to discuss the charity work AAFA does nationwide. Her discussion of both indoor and outdoor pollutants and simple steps to take has become a regularly visited feature on both the AAFA and Robin Wilson Home websites.
